Looking for Breakfast

This female sparrowhawk had a small bird cornered in the spiky bush here and flew round and round several times in the hope it would come out, as the bush is too dense for her to get inside.  Fortunately for the intended prey, it stayed where it was, so the sparrowhawk left empty-handed!  

Just one of the many life and death struggles that play out daily in a domestic garden!

A beautiful sunny day here with the most amazing cloud formations, which nearly made it to my blip, but I don't see the sparrowhawk very often:-)
