Such a beautiful scent

I came across these very small purple flowers growing along the coastal footpath this morning.  They had a beautifully strong scent of violets so I assume they are wild violets.

On another note we are now calling in the experts to sort out the leather jacket infestation in our back garden.  My husband has been spending way too much time picking them off the paving and the lawn at night.  He collected a full plastic tub of them two nights ago.
