Passed :-)
So Cumbria now has one more Community First Responder.
For the last few Wednesdays, Thursdays & Sundays I've been going through the training process - and tonight was the final (practical) assessment.
It's been a very very positive process. Despite the (apparrent) organisational problems of the North West Ambulance Service the trainers and volunteers who I've interacted with these last few weeks have all managed to keep the simple fact that we're all here to help others at the forefront of what we've been doing. I've learnt a lot and its been done with a good mix of training styles, and nicely for me, a lot of practical work, which is how I learn best.
I also learnt that (supposedly) when a patient can't breathe, but doesn't like having something on their face "put the s@$$%&g mask on" doesn't convey the correct element of TLC. Oh well, I'm sure I can work on that....
So now I just need to wait for the pager to buzz...
