On the line

This is a shot of the ruins of Mintlaw Railway Station, a victim of the Beeching cuts in 1965. That's fifty years ago! In the early nineties one of my colleagues and I worked with the young people of Mintlaw to develop an alternative use for the building as a youth centre, with some impressive plans being drawn up, but unfortunately the dream never became a reality and twenty years on the building has decayed further, and is probably beyond saving. Such a shame really.
