Accidentally on purpose

Hello and welcome to Rachel's school of photography.

Today's lesson is all about a little trick I want to teach you called "Wrong Settings"

Here's how to do it:
On a really, really bright sunny day what you must do is set your camera for poor light. This way the lens will be flooded with extra sunlight and your photos will look most peculiar.
This peculiar-ness can sometimes be mistaken for sloppiness, daftness, absent mindedness, even - dare I say it - unprofessionalism |GASP| But I like to call it pure genius.

You can always fool people with something so shockingly bad it looks kind of individual.

Some people call this blue sky thinking. I like to call it white sky thinking.

White everything everywhere washed out thinking.

You heard it here first.
Now go away and try it for yourself.
And post your results to the trash can.

I've been gardening this evening. It's a bit like my photography. It has audiences gasping, 'Whup!?'
This evening was no exception.
I have been cutting Things That Obscure The Evening Sun And Make The Garden Shady When I Know There Is Sun Still Out there Somewhere.
We have one corner where we can't get the actual sunset - next door's hedge, big tree and house are in the way (Yes, tempted to sneak over and chop them down... even the house) - but we can get some evening sun on these light evenings so I thought the best time would be when it's actually evening and I can see what's in the way (and tonight Richard was at a surf club meeting so there was no one to stop me! WAH HA HA |brandishes handsaw| )
Also I spent the whole morning with excruciating stomach pains and wanted to make up for missing half a day.
There's always something wrong with me! This time I think it's oat gluten intolerance - OUCHIE. I don't recommend it, unless you want to feel like a balloon that's been stabbed with pins repeatedly but not managed to deflate.

I read lots more photography facts and tips today. I'm only 2 weeks behind now. Whoop whoop!
What do you mean it's not obvious?

Lots of bits of itchy tree and insect are falling out of my hair now - and some surprising places too.
Richard's back and just about to see a huge-normous pile of cuttings. He loves it when I do that...
;o)
