Day 3: The Last One

5years 165days

Well, today was another incredible day!! Despite an epic late night, Katie was up and about ready to head out for more adventures. The day was started with disappointments again though, that we weren't heading to the booked show of Swan Lake. Part of that adventure was that we had arranged to meet fellow ballet loving blippers at the theatre as a surprise for our children. So instead, we arranged the surprise to take place at the first Shaun of our final trail. The girls' reactions almost made up for the lack of the ballet - seeing them run across the station for a hug was wonderful. Katie spent a lot of this morning grinning up at Carys. It was lovely. Our trail today took in Liverpool St Station and the surrounding areas,  after which we stopped for coffee/babyccinos. We then went on to the Tower,  and the many questions that always brings. On to Tower Bridge and the South Bank where we stopped for a picnic. It was then up to London Bridge station and the Shard where Katie and I celebrated finishing our final trail, though 4 lone sheep still remained. We got on a tube and all headed to Canary Wharf for two of those. The girls really liked the final one of those - a gold Shaun. They pulled faces at themselves in the reflections for a good while and chased around the gardens. It was with more than a touch of sadness that we parted ways, Carys & E headed for rollerskates, K & I headed for our final Shauns. We had to return to one from yesterday that we had seen but were unable to stand next to because of the fires. We got off the tube at Waterloo Bridge and explored near the Eye for a while. She played at the climbing frame there before we crossed over the river. We walked from the Embankment to the Shaun, and back again for a tube to Paddington. We found the one in the station and headed out to St Mary's hospital where we found the final Shaun! That was it. All 50 done!! She was extremely pleased with our efforts.

We took tube/trains back to Lyra et al in time for a very yummy tea with their grandparents. Tired girl crashed out fairly quickly, once she could be convinced she really did need to sleep!!
