Icelandic horses
You can not come to Iceland and not stop to stroke the horses. They are very friendly and amazingly soft !
Busy day but sooo good.
1. Ice and snow covering the road, filling the pot holes.
2. Filled up with 95 ( gasoline) at N1.
3. Started drive to Stykkisholumer..
4. STOP, Basalt rock formations and church.
5.STOP, Another great view, two dogs ran across in the field opposite barking and ran really fast after the car when we drove off.
6.. STOP. Icelandic horses near the road side with mountains as a back drop.,Gave them a stroke, so soft and so friendly.
7.STOP. Cup of tea and delicious doughnut and cookie.
8. Snow covered mountains, icy roads, plenty of sunshine.
9.STOP. Helgafell , pretty church and very friendly dog who ran up to welcome us. David caught in a snowstorm going up the mountain. Cleared within minutes.
10. Lunch of burgers and chips in a small cafe with lace curtains and a jar full of lollipops.
11.Exploring Stykkisholumer, colourful boats, old, pretty houses.
12. Some up to the lighthouse, blizzard while they were up there. Covered in snow but dry and warm in our outdoor clothes.
13. Up to the big church.
14. Back, hot tub, looking for the Northern lights, no sightings yet but clear sky with lots of stars.
