A great day

It feels like summer. We got going early with our visitors from Ireland for our walk further up the valley. They are not walkers but loved the open country, with the larks singing, curlews calling and a warmth in the air.

I invited 2 friends I thought would be compatible for supper, and we had a great night - they were singing the International by the time I brought in the cheese. Must be a first in this house in the 10 years we've lived here! Mr C and I were able to sit back and let the conversation flow - they really got on so well and are all four great talkers.

Now we have to get sorted for T and K to depart in the morning and as soon as that happens we need to get organised to get to Whitley Bay for a 3 day babysitting duty starting at midday.

I might feel a bit "jaded".
