Animatronic dinosaurs and Kir Royals

What a difference a day makes! Lovely room service meal last night and some kicking back in the hotel and we all woke up in a much better mood.

Thanks to my lovely neighbour texting to say her little boy also has earache (same nursery) and that ibuprofen had helped, we dosed Squidge up and it made a world of difference to her mood! She has obviously been really suffering. But once we realised we were able to help her thankfully.

We drove to the zoo and it was brilliant. Contrasted with the last time we went to Chester Zoo, she seemed much more into it this time and was blown away by the chimpanzees and penguins in particular.

The zoo is on a hillside so it was heavy going for Angus and I with the buggy but good exercise. We felt liked we'd had a work out. Loved this pic Angus took of himself in the frankly quite brilliant dinosaur exhibition. Sod the real animals, animatronic dinosaurs were my highlight!

She was pretty ratty and tired by the end (two hours later) so we walked her round Edinburgh in the pram and bingo she fell asleep! Quickly pulled into a French bistro on a cobbled side street, ordered a delicious meal and some Kir Royals and sat on a table in the sun (pram in the shade, her snoozing happily) and had a wonderful, romantic lunch. Winning!

Then came back to the hotel for post afternoon drinking snoozes (us), Shrek The Third and a room service of cheese on toast, strawberries and ice cream for her tea.

Happy family day!!!!! Wish we were staying longer!!!
