What a Day
My Saturday started at 3.30am. I couldn't find anyone to come night fishing with me so I went on my own. My friends missed out. By the time I exited the harbour there was a hint of the coming dawn. What a fantastic way to start the day. Me, my boat and the ocean. It turned out that the fishing was quite good too. Just for a change! This catfish took me 15 minutes to land. One of the best fish I have caught in years. Not what I was targeting but it gave me sore arms and back ache. I really enjoyed it and the fish lived to fight another day.
There were plenty of other fish although nothing for the pan.
I was so inspired that I am going out tomorrow morning again.
As for the rest of the day. Well, we took Dad's dog Jassy to visit him in the home. I think Dad enjoyed it although he was a bit vague today.
After an afternoon nap I went back out on the bay with my friend Brad. It was quite windy and therefore quite rough. My plan was to put my crab pots out where I want to fish tomorrow morning which is around 10km offshore in the bay. I was a bit worried that Brad would get a bit nervous but he put his faith in my boating skills. We laid the pots and headed for more sheltered water to wet a line. The fish weren't biting but the conversation was good.
So I saw the sun rise and set on the bay today. Now I am the kind of tired you only get from doing enjoyable things.
Early to bed. 3.30am start again tomorrow.
