Atop the Seat
I had hoped to get out for a run this morning, but I awoke with a bizarre pain in my left knee - it felt as though it was bruised but on the inside. I skipped the run and decided to start work early. I was working from home on a Scottish Parliament call for evidence - I needed the quiet to concentrate - so I sat in my pjs in bed and got to work.
I finished my evidence mid afternoon and sent it off to my boss. Following a spot of late lunch, I did some other bits that needed doing and finished work early (justifiable as I did start at 8am).
Late afternoon the knee was feeling better so I decided on a jaunt up Arthur's Seat. It's been a while since I've ran up and even longer since I've walked it. I chose to walk it today so as not to antagonise the knee.
It was an hour door to door, which I didn't feel was too bad. I do need to work on my fitness again, but there's life in the old body yet! I have to say I love that I can climb an old extinct volcano and be home within an hour - one of the many reasons I love living in Edinburgh. It's the ultimate compromise between being in a city and being in the country.
Here's the view from the top - it was more than a tad blustery with a spot of rain but it was worth it. The monument on Carlton Hill I blipped on Saturday boasted it had the best views in Edinburgh. But we all know they're not. Atop the Seat are where the best views are to be had!
