day 1.
things come & go. A new something is often on the cards to keep things interesting (rather than a simple hobby i guess)
but every year about this time I get some sort of momentum to get through the annual Sydney city2surf. With just 115.5 days until the guns go off, i've nearly enough time to get fit enough to get across the finish line in a time worthy of my age (under 100mins).
The first year I did it, I was gob-smacked by the 35000 entrants both at the start & finish - a sea of people so colourful it was magnificent. In the following 2 years the race got up to its max capacity of 85000!!! But with people not showing up on the day, i don't think they have ever actually had that many people run the 14km course. Held on the second Sunday in August, this year is the 42nd running (or is it 43rd? it started in 1973).
The 2km stretch from Rose Bay to Vaucluse is affectionally known as Heartbreak Hill...although it does also mess up your calves & quads.... But given the number of deaths on course over the years (heart attacks), it may not be the best name to give it.
So today I began the C25K - however it would make more sense to do the 10K ....but lets not get too carried away.
In other news: some of that housework stuff & it was Tuesday night dinner (which, by all recent accounts should probably be now known as Wednesday night dinner)
