Little Fryup Dale

Decided to try a new walk this afternoon to take full advantage of the good weather.

Little Fryup is a tributary of the Esk Valley and we walked the low moorland ridges surrounding the Dale. The photo is looking across the Dale to Round Hill.

Danby Castle built in the 14th century is found in Little Fryup. The castle has been combined into a farm and was home to the powerful Neville family and also Catherine Parr who was Henry VIII last wife.

Unfortunately I could not find an angle I was happy with due to it now being used for weddings and a large marquee was in the middle of the ruins.
