Aunty Pop.
I've been doing blip for over two years now, and if you've followed me through that time, you'll know about my Aunty Pop. My favourite Aunty. My mum's sister.
She would take me out of school on St Georges day so that I could help her pick dandelions to make wine with. It had to be done on St Georges day. Her WI recipe book said that dandelions should be picked on St Georges day to make the best dandelion wine. She'd also get my neighbours daughter to help too!
Such is tradition, and I'll always remember her on this date.
This is a photo that she gave to Uncle George, when he was in the forces. He was an engineer and worked on radar instalations in Scotland, and the Faeroes during the war. Mum had this picture for a while after Aunty passed away, and it's come to me now..
Wasn't she a stunner?!!
Damp and grey today. Took our clock down to M's to repair the spring today, and saw his workshop. There was a little envy I must admit. He is a craftsman, and very skilled with clocks. Will be a little while before we get the clock back, as he has other jobs in progress..
Went down the croft and planted some Cauliflower, Cabbage, and Brussel plants. Then spent the rest of the day sowing some more!
G cut my hair, and we've got camera club tonight..
