Snipe.
..accompanied, while walking Tanni on the hill this morning, by a snipe. These birds make the most peculiar noise during flight, to attract a partner. They fly to a height, and then dive, allowing air to rush through their wings creating this sound (around 55 seconds into the recording). It flew up, and dived, and again, and again for five or ten minutes. Went in to get my camera, fitted the telephoto lens, and guess what? Yep, didn't see it again.
So you'll have to enjoy this picture of a pigeon instead!!.
Dull and damp today, so chance to catch up on a few inside jobs. Until our new Marquees turned up. Unload. Put I's trailer on. Load. Drive to pavillion. Unload. Unpack and check.. All seems OK, but might assemble them properly this weekend if it's dry, just to check that everything is there and OK.
Eggs tonight, and pub! Smiley face icon thingy..
