Wellington Bomber
A Wellington Bomber crashed in a local field in 1945. This weekend our village hosts a memorial and unveiling of a plaque to commemorate the men who lost their lives.
We have dignitaries, RAF, Royal British Legion and the families of those men attending a service (some have come in from NZ especially) followed by a reception at our local hall and
I have been asked to take the photographs of the event. Originally the request was ‘oh just some snaps’ to now it’s a full blown list of what and who!!
Today the flags went up to mark the crash site, so I popped up there this morning.
This evening sees me off to the village hall to take photos of the preparations and then I will be going off to the rehearsal at the church.
I have been given a very long list of photos that need to be taken, everything from the flags and flowers to the VIP’s. From that list it looks like I need to be in two places at once!!
I am looking forward to being part of such a special day and hope that the history club, the families and the village will like my photos. I am a bit nervous as this is the first event I have ever done!!
I am looking forward to the challenge and the lessons I will learn.
Happy Friday everyone x
