Sweepin' up the leaves (in bee terms)...

...A quick one today.
This one isn't a goldcrest again :-/

This bee was so busy, hoovering up/whatever they do on a windy Saturday afternoon..
In much the same way as I clean the kitchen floor after little visitors I suppose. (Probably fewer cheese crumbs).
I've never seen the mouth parts quite so close up before.
(We hardly have to go to other planets for alien life do we really?).

The blackbirds are so cheeky at the moment in the garden, they're an absolute joy.(Even though they do dig up a lot of carefully planted stuff!).
I fished out the tripod (as you do at this time of year).
Set it up.
Facing 'busy' tree.
Even set up a remote button.
(With an extension lead, for obvious 'sit down and cup of tea' purposes).
Birds came.
Oh how they laughed ;-/
Organised themselves around every twig except the one at which the camera pointed. Posed upside down, had mock fights, tried on daft hats...You get the picture? (No? Nor me).

So here's a bee.
