Basketmaker
Another day spent exploring a different section of Mexico City, a nine-stop metro ride south of where we are staying. A wonderful colonial neighborhood, with lots of restaurants, shops and two great parks. In the first park, the shoppers in the group discovered this vendor making pine needle baskets in the shade of one of the many trees. His prices were ridiculously inexpensive (according to the shoppers), so they bought four of his creations for use back home. Always fun to buy directly from the craftsman, especially in such a scenic spot.
