THE BOMBYLIUS MAJOR AGAIN

After yesterday grim and rather wet weather we could now enjoy lovely spring warmth again.
And what is nicer than doing some little tasks in the garden, hear the birds sing cheerfully (they sang cheerfully yesterday too, in a way they do not seem to mind what weather they got). In the morning when Piet Hein and I sat on the self made bench near the hut, the woodpecker came and hammered on a tree nearby. We have never seen a woodpecker so close by. Two minutes of amazement. Then she flew away.
In the afternoon we went for a walk, the first since a long time.
Let's not go too far, I said. We still have to buy some food things and carry these up-hill. Somehow having a cup of tea after that was simply heavenly. Sitting in the sun. Glad the walk went well.

I watched yesterday a film with Hans Moser and Paul Hörbiger called Wiener G'schichten, on YouTube. Heartwarming!

The 4th of May in Holland is the day called "Nationale Dodenherdenking"  the day to remember the victims of the Second World War and the wars after that. Two minutes to be silent for everybody and at so many places putting wraths at cemetries and of course at the Dam in Amsterdam and
In Scheveningen at the Waalsdorpervlakte where many persons were executed.
The 5th of May is then called: "Bevrijdingsdag", In 1945 on that day The Netherlands were freed after five years of occupation.
I was a four month baby at that time.

My haiku:

From where I came and
Where I go I'll never know
The path up and down

And the proverb:

Patience, and shuffle the cards.

1620  in Dhelton, Quix.
(Note. Card players ....when they lose, cry to the dealer, 'Patience and shuffle the cards')
