Market produce

We went to the underground market today to buy our fruit and vegetables. It's a journey in the car of 30 minutes or so via the mountains. Last week, I bought some tomatoes and strawberries in a cellophane wrapper and they didn't last very long which indicates to me that they hadn't been sprayed with chemicals to prolong their life like they do in the supermarkets at home.
