Ramblers to the fore
Our Tuesday walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers started and ended in Cumbernauld Village, but most of the walk was around the Westerwood area to the north of the town - formerly the site of the Antonine Wall built by the Romans in the mid-2nd century, but now dominated by a luxury hotel and golf course complex.
The area has lots of paths, proving that walkers and golfers (a good walk spoiled, as someone once said) can co-exist quite happily. It stayed dry on Tuesday morning for our walk, but the heavens opened not long after we had finished our post-walk social stop back in the Village.
