Diary of an Edinburgher

Bailey!

Bailey's mum texted last night to say that her back was sore and she couldn't make it up the hill, but this morning we rang and said we'd pick Bailey up in our car and take her with us.

I did make it up the hill, slowly, but jings it was windy. And indeed we got caught in what was possibly a hail storm. JR was foolishly wearing just a wee summer jacket...

However, it only lasted long enough to soak us and then the sun came out again. Bailey was a very good wee dog - she was fastest at coming back when called (could be something to do with little pieces of chicken treats).

They just ran around together, didn't play like mad as they normally do, but they had fun. We took Bailey back and had a cuppa with Bailey's mum, and after Archie had checked out all of Bailey's toys (which she doesn't play with) they started their boxing match. Fun to watch.

We've arranged for Bailey to come and visit Archie's house on Monday. This could be mutually beneficial, because they get on so well together - the possibility of Archie staying with Bailey for a day, or vice versa, will be very handy.

He is completely zonked out now on the sofa, but he will be having a bath later.

I have just booked flights to Amsterdam in June to visit friends who are celebrating their wedding anniversary. Archie and JR will have to hold the fort for a few days.

After such an exciting morning, I may now zonk out on the sofa with Archie...
