Happy Families

I took a walk around the lake towards the end of this afternoon when the sun came out, on cue, as forecast. It was beautifully peaceful with hardly a soul about - just lots of happy bird families. There were swans, Canada & greylag geese, ducks and their young aplenty! I thought these young cygnets with the adult swans looked particularly lovely against the silky blue water.

I've included a couple of extras - a fun one of a cygnet being rather demanding, and a shot of a grebe that I was rather pleased with as they usually stick to the centre of the lake and spend much of their time submerged under the surface of the water!
