A view from Jeanneb

Still as a Mill Pond.

This mill pond is above Gibson Mill at Hardcastle Crags.

It was a very still morning when we got there for our walk. We had left a bright and slightly breezy Harden and travelled over Crag Vale in this mist. The advantage of the stillness was the wonderful scent of the bluebells in the woods. Above them on the lane the views were restricted by the misty conditions and drizzle but it brightened and the walk back through the woods was a delight.

I went for these lovely reflections rather than more bluebells today but the sight and smell of them certainly enhanced our walk. If you want to see more of this lovely valley, in the care of The National Trust, have a look at my Flickr  shots. (See also Corinthian Column)

If you missed my shot from yesterday or didn't know who the statue was, it was Fiery Fred Trueman, the great Yorkshire and England bowler in bowling pose.

Happy weekend  (and Bank holiday in the UK) everybody.

( Waved at Midgehole Dave and Bezzie Pet as we passed. What a lovely spot you live in.)
