Stonehenge... of course!

I left Mealz and her little 'family' this morning with hugs, kisses and a satisfied tum from the bacon butty she cooked - there's a way to start a day! :)
A loooooong drive home so on Amelia's suggestion I stopped off at Stonehenge en route .. free to National Trust members - brilliant!
Wow what an eerie, ethereal and silently powerful place - absolutely mesmerising!   (Rather pleased with this pic that it is people free - as there were hundreds of people there!)
I did drive round in a very large circle having left Stonehenge.....
Q:  Why did I waste an hour going round in circles?
A:  Because I didn't listen to my satnav
Q:  Why didn't I listen to my satnav
A:  Coz I'm an idjut!

Fav quotes from the fascinating SH exhibition:

Pile of Stone-henge! So proud to hint, yet keep thy secrets....
William Wordsworth, poet, 1794

To all these questions beginning 'Why?'  there is but one short, simple and perfectly correct answer:  We do not know and shall probably never know.
Richard Atkinson, archaeologist, 1956
