King Henry the Tilly
I had to visit a local farmer this morning to look at his deeds as he wants to establish the ownership of some land. I need to be careful as there is some family politics at play and I need to keep out of that as I wish to live happily in this village... I should be able to do a bit of freebie investigatory work for them but if they need more I'll need to refer them on to someone else. They were happy with that. I had to admire their very tasteful sofas (I'd never been in their house before) and now covet them for my house.
I spent some time researching some juicers last night after C's enthusiastic recommendations yesterday. So I headed into John Lewis to see their range. They didn't have the one I was looking for but I did see a good range and think I know the one I want now. (How I managed to come out with two new duvet covers I do not know... oh yes I do, nice bedding is my absolute Achilles heel!)
Then I went over to C's after lunch. When I got there three out of four were asleep, the two bubs and C, who was very tired after a busy night up with Tilly. S was up so we had a nice chat over some tea and I told him about my Portugal trip idea. He was supportive which was nice. He also said C's two week effort to get Tilly to sleep in the afternoons without breast feeding her has paid off. Good work C! S said they're really looking forward to their camping trip to The Gower with the kiddies next week. Rather them than me.
Eventually everyone got up and I had a lovely time playing and helping to feed the bubs. Here's Tilly relaxing, Henry VIII stylie, in her high chair. Teddy was obsessed by a couple of flies buzzing around and shouted in delight every time he spotted one. Little things eh?! When I left, he hung over the back of the sofa in the window and waved me down the path, which he does every time now. Too cute.
I met their new farming neighbour, S, as I was getting in the car with her two teeny doggies and she seems very nice. They had spent the afternoon at theirs yesterday and I do hope C and she make friends. It's good to have neighbours you get on with.
When I got home, as it was finally sunny, I got the garden equipment and green bin out and cleared up my front garden so I can't be blamed when the village doesn't do well in the Best Kept Village competition! That said, I think it looks worse not better now that I've 'tidied' it up as I rather like the wild sprawling look.
