Going wild with Brownies
Day 2 of 30 days Wild so we took the Brownies to Rosemarkie beach for an adventure.
I started the session by reading Davids book a good introduction to the Fairy Glen. One of the girls noticed the rhyming words and they were all interested and excited about the fairies. I had to pause briefly when the rescue helicopter came over and hovered over the Firth.
After we had camouflaged our faces we went on a mini beast hunt and hoping we would find some bees. It was still overcast but dry and not too windy. Managed to see one bee, lots of millipedes, a slug or two, worms, beetles, woodlice and this tiny snail. The most common insect was the very annoying Highland midge.
The girls enjoyed throwing 'sticky' weed at each other and had a go at pooh sticks on the little bridge. We even met Angus the puppy I blipped about a few weeks ago ,out on one of his walks. He looked full of beans :)
The time went soo quickly and there was just enough time to play in the park.
We all had a wonderful wild experience.
I've also started my blog. see more here https://livinginahouseonahill.wordpress.com/2015/06/02/going-wild-with-brownies/
