Keep away from my babies

This is one of a pair of Oyster catchers that have hatched two young in the field where we are staying. They do nt let you get very close and fly overhead squawking and piping VERY loudly !! The babies are so tiny but already following their parents around but any sign of danger and they vanish , huddled down in the buttercups and daisies.
Had a heavy shower earlier in the day when we were eating lunch but the sun came out and we enjoyed a walk along the lane. The cows came to say hello and then stampeded in the other direction.

Mike spotted a hare in the field which we could only just see as the wheat is growing fast.

Saw the badger again last night after sitting for over an hour. I thought badgers would amble along but not this one it was like ' grease lightening !'

Also heard a cuckoo.

Really looking forward to my friend Sally coming up tomorrow :)
