Creativity in Don Valley
Okay, I'll be honest. When the alarm went off at half four I was somewhat bemused. Sleepy. Okay, okay, frickin knackered. Protein shake and off to training, Ronnie knew when I walked in the door that the 300 session he had planned wasn't a goer. My legs seemed to have decided that they had worked hard enough over the past few weeks and were due a day off...so we did lots of upper body and core work, just to make sure those muscles were as pooped as the lower half of my body! I've been granted time off for good behaviour...I have a session tomorrow night and a run on Friday morning and then I'm not training until Sunday morning! I think my body needs it...and some sleep too!
So, when you run the dogs and eat your breakfast and are all done and dusted by 7am the day seems soooo long! That was good cos I had loads of work to do so I settled in the sunroom and started on my Uni work, with a bit of school work thrown in. I was waiting for the man to come and sort some chips in my windscreen...due to be here between 8-12pm...when I rang him at half twelve he didn't know anything about me. GRRR! We re-arranged.
So, I threw some jeans on and headed to Sheffield to visit three art galleries that had photographic exhibitions on. Number nne - Tanya Ahmed - I think 13 photographs is a bit measly for an 'exhibition' but, to be fair, they were really good. Got me thinking about lines and shapes and monochrome. And I happened to sit with Tanya and asked about her work..she happened to be drinking coffee in the gallery as today was the first day of the exhibition. I'mthinking I need to take some decent pics and get myself an expo...what fun!!! Anyway, expo number two - Andy Warhol, self portraits - was crap. Utter crap. He's a nutter and likes dressing in women's wigs and I'm not convinced that's what I would call art. If I dressed up in blokes clothes and wore a cod piece could I have an expo in a flashy gallery?? Anyway, gallery number three was closed (?) so I took some nice pictures outside. Of this building. The man is made of the bricks...too cool.
Came home via Morrisons and bought fruit for my next assignment...then spent best part of two hours photographing blackberries, strawberries and raspberries! I'm gonna enjoy this assignment!
Dog walk...tea...and - mid typing - I've literally just spoken to you and told you all this news so I guess I could probably hit delete...but I won't.
Advanced drivers course and skid pan tomorrow...god help me. It could get messy!
