The Bridge

The Bridge of Dee or Brig o' Dee is a road bridge over the River Dee in Aberdeen, Scotland. The term is also used for the surrounding area of the city. Dating from 1527, the bridge crosses at what was once the City of Aberdeen's southern boundary.

On the right side of it, out of the picture, where Boots now sits, The Earl of Montrose camped his troops before sending two men into the city to parley with the city leaders during the reformation.
The peace envoys, a drummer and a white flags bearer were shot and killed.
The following day the Earl marched his troops into the city and the citizens of the city were given short shrift at a battle near Justice Mills.
