(Not sure whose quotation I'm abusing here. I used to think it was Capability Brown, but now pretty sure it's not.)

Another week, another vast open NGS garden. This one's probably 15 acres according to the gardener.  Awesome yew hedge. Picked up some ideas, and quite like the idea if abandoning rusting garden tools where they lay and calling it art.  Can't manage a tractor ourselves, but that seized garden roller at the bottom of our hill could well be staying there.

Lunch was different today.  The local village hall put on a Big Lunch (www.thebiglunch.com) - something I'd not come across before - a community-wide bring-and-share meal.  Every third plate was mini pork pies but I didn't see that as a problem.
