Bright welcome

This isn't quite what you expect to see in a hotel foyer. The unusual rainbow zebra is a welcome splash of colour in the Starling hotel opposite Geneva airport. It was our buffet lunch and car collection venue in arrival in Switzerland.

Today's travel trip is for the international launch of the new Toyota Avensis, with a route through the hills above Lake Geneva, past Lausanne and Montreux, to Vevier.

Until very recently, in all the years I have been a motoring writer, I had never been to an event in Vevier. Now I'm back here for the second time in a month, loving being back in the mountains. not for long though. Back home tomorrow.
