Sparrow tenement

We hear that House Sparrows are becoming scarcer, but we do have a colony nearby, and decided to try to attract some to nest, and also to support the birds with suitable accommodation, and maybe help to increase their numbers locally.
So here is a special sparrow bird box, courtesy of the RSPB, that is specially designed for Passer Domesticus.
There are three distinct compartments, because they are a colonial nesting species.
So I have been up the extending ladders and fixed the box to the wall of our house just below the eaves, facing south-west.
This attractive box is beautifully constructed of hard wearing materials and should last for years.
Fingers crossed now that the sparrows will find, colonise and multiply.
Watch this space.......
