Judging the Children's Fancy Dress Competition

This unenviable task had fallen on the broad shoulders of
my good friend Charles White who came with enough
prizes to absolve himself from unpopularity with both
parent and child ! Another successful event organised
by the Friends of St John's Church at Staintondale near
Scarborough - so often described as "God's own country".
The work of the Friends ensures there is enough money
to keep to save his Church from closure.
