Wildlife
The days of seeing cows roaming the streets are gone, apparently, what with the boom in population, construction, and cars. But there are plenty of pigs, goats, and dogs. This goat is having a fresh, green snack while its buddies are cleaning up some of the trash on the sidewalk.
I thought I'd do a good deed and feed an emaciated looking dog on our street, but the rice ball with egg that I left it went untouched today. I guess I'll feed the rest of the rice balls I made to the pigs. It turns out there's at least one outfit that goes around and feeds dogs. I saw a guy pop out of his minivan, scoop some kibble out of a bucket in the back, and put it on some newspaper by a stray.
Geeta was in good form today. Lots of jokes and lots of moaning in class. Her point about eka pada setu bandha sarvangasana (like bridge pose with one leg in the air) was that you have to suck the bottom leg into the socket, even as you eventually try to straighten that leg. There were some nice words about how our openness had to be like that of the full moon. My moons were getting a bit droopy by the third or fourth repetition, but later in the day I practiced chatush padasana and could actually hold my ankles, which I haven't been able to do for a long time. Progress!
