A Wet Morning

It was quite wet this morning - so we used the wet day fallback of Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum.

John, the owner of LPH, knows the owne rof the museum very well the guests are allowed 'backstage' in to the workshop to take photos.

It is a glorious mess of old engineering and railway equipment and supplies. Old lathes, drills, spanners, lamps, bits of engines and a partially restored steam loco. If you like rust then this is heaven. It is very dark and what light there is comes from dusty windows and a few ancient fluorescent lights.

I took this shot of an old oil can - zoomed in on the top with an extension tube on my 70-300 zoom lens.

The weather cleared up around 1 and we headed off to Manesty Woods and Derwentwater for some more typical Lakeland shots - one included in extras - a 9 shot multi in-camera shots.

Both are straight of camera - no time to work anything up.
