Peninsula panorama

This morning we had decided that we would have breakfast and then go straight to the Castle owned by the Della Scala family which acts as the entrance to Sirmione's inner town, with its walls surrounding the predominantly pedestrianised area where we are staying.

The castle was built around XIII and has been preserved, offers fantastic 360 degree views of the peninsula where Sirmione's sits, well worth the long climb up to the very top turret........don't you agree?! We bumped into a couple we had chatted to during yesterday's tour whilst up there too! We all went for a coffee in the square and arranged to meet for a drink later in the week.

We took a long walk along the lakeside late morning, found a lovely spot for lunch, sat a while, then walked back. Did a little holiday shopping late afternoon, as you do, then sat in the early evening sun watching the ferries coming and going.

A lovely leisurely day around our resort........off on another tour tomorrow:-)

Still having fun :-)
