Life through the lens...

By ValC

Reflections of Monet.

I loved the water lilies in Monet's garden in France, but I think I have found an even better place nearer to home!
Burnby Hall, in Pocklington, has the National Collection of water lilies.
In fact one of the biggest arrays of Hardy Water Lilies growing anywhere in Europe, in a natural setting.
It is such a beautiful, peaceful place, as we discovered when we went to see the tulips in May.
Today was perfect. Warm and sunny, and so they were open wide.
See more photos on "extras". Difficult to decide which one to blip, but decided on this as I live the colour, and reflection.

Also had a walk into Pocklington. A lovely old fashioned market town.
Lovely individual shops, and galleries.
( Bought some shoes!)
Then a picnic lunch and walk along the canal.
A truly beautiful day out!
