Scorchio!

It was the hottest day of the year so far at 33C - wow!

Miserable M was back from holiday and suitably appreciative of the work I've done for him whilst he's been away. A first! I think he said thanks at least three times. I am honoured!

When I left at lunch, my first job was to the bank to find out that some little bugger has been using my credit card to try to buy stuff online in America. Luckily the bank had blocked all but one and I'll be reimbursed for the one that went through. It's the first time I've been a victim but am pleased the bank's fraud systems worked.

Business done, I headed straight to Woburn Lido pool which was brilliantly busy, sunny and glorious. I spent a decent hour pootling around in the deep end, enjoying the sun, people watching and loving being in the water again (22C). Bliss.

I dashed home to get changed for my next appointment, at a personal training centre and spoke to the trainer for nearly an hour before taking the plunge and signing up to a year's course. Eek! So starting on Thursday evening this week, I will be trained, honed, cajoled, beasted and encouraged to get fit. Each session is in a group of no more than four with the trainer giving each person their own session within that group. This is the next step on my journey to reconnect with my failing body. Hopefully I'll have made some improvements before my holiday in August too.

Then it was back to the pool for a double dip! What a treat and what a joy. It was still lovely and full with school age children having a whale of a time and it was great to see. One lady jumped in fully clothed right next to me as she saw her son's armbands floating on the surface and panicked but her son was away in the shower at the time so her panic was for nothing. She really shocked herself and swore a lot but it was really quite funny.

I'm catching up on some Masterchef and will be back at the pool again tomorrow lunch after work to make the most of the fantastic weather we're having.

One of my better days. And I'm feeling hugely positive at the end of it.

Oh and that's the first half of this year done. I've been blipping for a year and a half and it's second nature to me now. Where does the time go?
