Scorchio II
It was the hottest July day on record in the UK today. I saw 35C this afternoon. Phew what a scorcher! And I got to enjoy most of it outside of work. Result. I have a great life, I really do.
So it was work til lunch then a hop, skip and a jump via my newly air conditioned car to Woburn Lido by 2pm. The pool was totally and utterly jam packed which was great to see but meant I could do little but hang around in the pool and even widths were out of the question today. It was still hugely enjoyable and relaxing.
I dashed home for a quick change then hotfooted it over to the head shrink for an interesting session, mainly talking about a past relationship and the ins and outs of it.
Finally, I went to Bedford this evening to catch up with S and E via a quick Sainsburys trolley dash. E was terribly stroppy in the heat and eventually fell asleep in the sofa. S and I were still sitting outside in vest tops at 10.30pm, virtually unheard of in Britain.
At one point this evening this blooming great frog jumped up and happily sat next to me on the garden bench. I wonder if he was a messenger telling me there is a prince around the corner...Hope so!
The heat has really been full on today. I've loved it as I haven't been stuck indoors and got a great cooling off period in the pool. I seem to be enjoying it a lot more than some. Tomorrow will be cooler and that's just fine as I have a full day in the office.
