Time

Why does it drag when you want to be somewhere else?

I woke up to a text from my sister this morning, saying that my beautiful niece Theia was born Wednesday night (1st July) at 11.41pm.

She wasn't due for another week, but at least she wasn't as impatient as her brother who was 3 weeks early!

Tracy messaged me yesterday morning to say she had all the signs of pre labour, but was due to go to the hospital anyway for a review, as baby was measuring on the small side.
She ended up being admitted as her labour pains escalated, and Theia was born weighing a healthy 6lbs.

I've been chomping at the bit all day to go and see her, but she's asked that I wait until tomorrow. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

As expected, she's tired but the reason I have to wait is that Theo is apparently completely overwhelmed by this little thing that Mummy has brought home.
She said she wants to get Theia settled in and give Theo a bit of time to absorb everything, without a deluge of visitors.

That's fair enough.

I've a huge bag of presents to take round; I've made sure that Theo has the same amount to open too so he doesn't feel left out. I've even bought him some toddler converse shoes to match the bootees from Tinksandtonks ;-)

My mum was really strict about that when we were growing up and insisted that people didn't buy for me and not my sister (& vice versa). I think that's a good rule to follow.

Is it tomorrow yet?!
