Today's the day ...................... to have the day off

I was at the hairdressers this week and the girl that was washing my hair asked me, " Have you got today off?" .  The only answer that I could give, of course, was that now that I was retired, I had every day 'off''  - and I have to say, it was rather a nice thought.

So on my day off today, I made some scones, walked into town and did a few things, pottered about in the garden, watched a fantastic Wimbledon tennis match when Heather Watson very nearly beat Serena Williams - and finished up with barbequed steak and some of these asparagus spears.

I love days off in the summertime ............................
