Out & About

I went out my front door to walk to a neighbor's this afternoon and I could see this little group coming down the alley behind the house so I ran back, grabbed my camera and managed a few shots before mama herded her little brood up the road.  

There are a lot of houses in my neighborhood, a few wooded areas and fortunately a fair number of safe places for these sweet things.  They do annoy some of the neighbors because they eat the flowers, etc., but for the most part everyone is tolerant and even fond of them so they live a pretty safe life.  Still, I marvel when I see them to think that mama gave birth to these two little guys in the woods somewhere and has nursed them to adolescence, kept them safe, found them food and continues to watch over them without a whole lot of help as they grow.   Nature always impresses me.
