Diary of an Edinburgher

New chairs!

Yesterday on the very busy bus home from the station Archie was squashed in but lay down under the seat as usual. A woman got on, struggled up the passageway carrying her packages, stopped beside me, and said,
'I have a giant.'
'Pardon?'
'I have a giant schnauzer. Is this Archie? I've met him up Blackford Hill with Bailey.'

Today the expected lunch visitor could not make it, but is coming tomorrow, food poisoning from a dodgy takeaway permitting. But the new dining room chairs did arrive!

'New dining room chairs?' I hear you ask. 'Didn't they buy new dining room chairs only last year?'

Yes. But they were never quite right, according to JR. The backs were 'too high for a small space'. And the backs were not shaped. Last week, while browsing online the chair department inJohn Lewis, they finally became unliveable with and new chairs were ordered.

So if anyone would like as new lovely wooden dining room chairs...

Archie agrees that the new chairs are better. And so they are.
