Torchbearer uniform arrived

After yesterday's anticipatory blip, today's subject will not be a surprise to anyone. It was a no brainer really.

So the uniform has arrived. Noe, finally, it is beginning to sink in. I am still filled wwith pride, excitement and humility, but acceptance is also beginning to creep in.

My letter says it's my moment to shine and hopes I'm excited.

It goes on

"You will carry the Olympic Flame on Saturday 23 June starting in Lytham St Anne's. You will start at approximastely 06:48am and carry the Flame on Inner Promenade neasr Coronation Road to Marine Drive: the best place for your friends and family to cheer you on is between these points."

I have a designated point at St Anne's Town Hall where I am to board a shuttle bus to take me to my allotted spot. My pick up time is 04.20am. That is not a typo!

Afterwards I will be transported back to the Town Hall where I can meet up with my family and friends.

I am not allowed to wear the uniform before the day but of course I have tried it on.
I'm not supposed to take anything else with me either, but the small pocket does have room for my phone, so I'll be able to get some photos from "inside" the relay on the day.

I've got the posters and fliers designed. They'll be printed by the weekend. And we've got the Freckleton Sports and Social Club booked from 2pm on the day so that as many people from the village can see the Torch close up.

I'm already booked into 2 schools, Radio lancashire, a sports shop, two running clubs in the week after I've carried it. No doubt more will follow because I believe it is important for as many people as possible to get a good look at the Torch.
And no, it is not for sale

In other news I had a really good Counselling session this afternoon and felt strong enough to day "No" to some extra work that was heading my way because of someone else's error. Once I reminded theem that as I was plan B and couldn't do it, they should revert to plan A who made the mistake in the first place.

Have a good week. I think you can tell I'm having one.
