Aerial Warfare

I sat eating my breakfast this morning, watching the birds as I usually do, and wondered if I could capture the way the early morning light shone through their spread feathers. That was the end of breakfast for a while as I experimented and found I could.

This one and the extra show the grumpy and greedy greenfinch battling for sole rights to the food and repelling all incomers. He does this every time food is put out and hasn't yet realised that while he is fighting off invaders, other are tucking in behind him.  Eventually sheer numbers overwhelm him and he gives in and shares, but with bad grace.

I havent tried it yet but this is one time it probably looks good in large.
