The Morning After

We had a much-needed steady rainfall last night, and it was lovely to see the water droplets shining in the morning sun.

This female Anna's hummingbird, perched in the dogwood tree in the front yard, was looking rather bedraggled a few minutes before I took this photo. She spent some time fluffing her feathers and grooming before stopping by our hummingbird feeder for the first of several "meals" today.

After a gray start to the day, the sky is blue once more, and no doubt everything in the garden -- including the weeds -- will be growing apace today!
