Today's the day ...................... to queue

Not a good day to have to travel far.

Torrential rain turning the roads into rivers - and because it was Friday, lots of people in cars clogging it up further.  We spent hours in stationary traffic, slowly edging forward to eventually discover that the hold-up was caused by - nothing at all.  We managed to drive 270-odd miles, but it took us seven hours to do it and we were exhausted when we eventually reached our destination.

Not a good way to prepare yourself for celebrity status the following day ........................
