Flying catamaran

We drove down to Portsmouth to watch the finals of the Americas Cup World Series today - but they were cancelled due to the wind!

All the spectators were cleared from the beach over 'health & safety' concerns and drifted home. The racers just picked up their flimsy little catamarans and packed them up to go home. Fortunately, we had started off the day in the Historic docks and there we stayed. There is quite a selection of historic boats there now - well worth a trip if you haven't been.

Ben Ainslie said that if the races had been allowed to go ahead there would have been absolute carnage. Of course, that was precisely why everyone was there in the outing rain hoping to witness it first hand.
