Rob Plane

I collected my new car this morning and it's great. Hope the love affair continues!

The real highlight of the day was the first concert of this year's Corbridge Chamber Music Festival, now in it's 17th year. All those years ago, Rob Plane was the very youthful principal clarinet with the Northern Sinfonia. He secured the job before he finished his college course. His wife is Lucy Gould of the Gould Piano Trio and together with musical friends, they bring wonderful music to us every year.

When we arrived this evening, Rob was warming up in the vestry of St Andrew's Church. Excellent acoustics and very hard pews!

Every year we see the same enthusiastic faces.  One lady did come to us and said she had not seen Mum at first, so wondered if she "was still with us". Tactful.......
